Who is AI Career Pro?

AI Career Pro is an independent professional education platform teaching the real-world practice of AI governance. Our courses and programs are built by practitioners, not academics, and are used by professionals in more than 30 countries.

Who builds and teaches the courses?

Our curriculum is built and taught by James Kavanagh, who built AI governance programs at the frontier of the industry, including as CSO/CTO of Microsoft Azure Government and leading Responsible AI Assurance at AWS. 

Do I need to be a lawyer, data scientist or engineer to do this program? 

No. Most of our students come from risk, compliance, legal, cybersecurity, data governance, or leadership backgrounds. If you can manage risk and communicate across teams, you already have the foundations. The program teaches you how to apply those skills to AI.

Choosing where to start

I'm new to AI governance. Where should I begin?

Start with our free course, Doing the Work of AI Governance. It's 11 short videos, about 45 minutes in total, and it will show you what the work actually looks like before you spend anything. You can also take the free Practitioner Capability Assessment to see where your current skills sit.

What is the Foundation Track?

The Foundation Track is four courses that build your core capability as an AI governance practitioner: Introduction to AI Governance, Organising for AI Governance, Governance Through the AI Lifecycle, and Writing AI Governance Policies. It includes case studies from over 100 organizations, ready-to-use templates, and practical exercises you can apply in your work immediately. It's US$199.

What is the AIGP Exam Preparation Course?

A complete preparation course for the IAPP AIGP certification exam, aligned to the AIGP Body of Knowledge. It includes 117 videos across 59 topics, more than 700 practice questions, and 5 full practice exams. It's US$99.

Should I do the Foundation Track or the Exam Prep course?

They do different jobs. The Exam Prep course gets you through the AIGP exam. The Foundation Track teaches you to do the work the certification says you can do. Most students who want both take the Bundle, which combines the Foundation Track and Exam Prep for US$249.

What is the Guided Practitioner Cohort?

A small-group program for professionals who want structure, feedback, and direct access to James while building their capability. It runs over several months, anchored by fortnightly live workshops, and includes case study work and one-on-one sessions with James. Places are limited to keep the group small. It's US$899.

What are the Specialty courses?

Specialty courses go deeper into specific practice areas, starting with AI Compliance. They're designed for practitioners who have the foundations in place and want depth in a particular domain. Details are on our Specialty Courses page.

What are the Practitioner Awards?

Our Practitioner Awards recognize demonstrated capability, not just course completion. They involve assessed practical work reviewed against practitioner standards. The Master Practitioner Award is our highest recognition and is by invitation only.

The learning experience

How are the courses delivered?

Fully online, through self-paced video lessons, downloadable templates, exercises, and quizzes. You can study on any device, in your own time, from anywhere. The Guided Practitioner Cohort adds live sessions on top of the self-paced material.

How long does each course take?

Each Foundation Track course is between 4 and 6 hours of video, plus exercises and optional reading. Most students complete a course in one to two days of focused effort, then spend additional time applying what they've learned in their own work.

What's included in a paid course?

Practitioner-led video lessons, real case studies, templates and checklists you can use immediately, practical exercises, and a certificate of completion. Our brand promise is taking you from theory to real-world practice, and every course is built around that.

Will the content be updated?

Yes. AI governance moves quickly and the courses are updated to reflect it. Your enrollment includes access to updates and new modules released within 12 months of your purchase.

Can I interact with other students or ask questions?

Yes. Each course includes a discussion area where you can ask questions and learn from other students, and we encourage you to use it. And we're real people. If you need us, email us and we'll respond personally.

Credentials and recognition

Is the program accredited?

AI Career Pro is an independent professional education provider. Our programs prepare you for globally recognized certifications, including the IAPP AIGP and ISACA AAIA, but we're not affiliated with either organization. Staying independent lets us teach what practitioners need, including the practical skills those certifications don't cover.

Will I receive a certificate? 

Yes. Each course includes a digital certificate of completion you can share on LinkedIn and with employers. The Practitioner Awards provide a higher level of recognition based on assessed practical capability.

Is this still relevant if I already hold the AIGP or AAIA?

Yes. Many of our students are already certified. The certifications test what you know. Our courses teach you how to do the work, with the templates, tools, and judgment that exams don't assess. Practitioners with the AIGP consistently tell us the program covers what the certification left out.

How much does it cost? 

You can start at no cost with our free course, Doing the Work of AI Governance. Paid options: AIGP Exam Prep is US$99, the Foundation Track is US$199, the Bundle combining both is US$249, and the Guided Practitioner Cohort is US$899. All prices are in US dollars.

How long do I have access?

Your enrollment includes access to your course content, including updates and new modules, for 12 months from the date of purchase.

How do I enroll? 

Every product page has an enrollment button, and checkout takes a couple of minutes. If you're not sure which option fits, start with the free course or take the free Practitioner Capability Assessment and go from there.
